Coming along nicely Ian. Can't wait to see/hear it in action.
I think you will be ok with standard brakes (with good quality pads that work from cold) in good condition as you have lost alot of weight anyway.

330hp Pulsar Gti-r, 153hp Metro and 185hp Smart Car!
Looks great for pennies....This car may look a bit shabby in places but really it is just a bit of fun to be had on the cheap!

I think a deadline would be no problem as it is ready to go out now, it is just being improved further.
I will need to hurry up then.
The car will definitely need a clutch before it heads out as this one is on its last legs and we have just increased the power by an estimate of 80BHP!
And all that clutch kicking.

What do you recommend for steering?
I hardly used the brakes unless i was heading backwards towards the fence. Good handbrakes seems to be all thats needed!Im not sure what to do about brakes as if its being used mostly for drifting then the stock ones should be ok with a good clean up.

" Uh Betty you should of seen this car in Ely today!! it had stickers and stripes
all over it, and when it started up, the noise!!!, I could feel my teeth rattling!!!"
Ok mate a good handbrake, what do you suggest to improve it?
Is there anyway to get rid of the ratchet on it so it does not lock on when you pull it?
I should spend a bit more time on the drifting forums rather than on here soo much!!
I was so pissed of about that roll cage mate i missed it by 2 minutes and the guy using it is not even putting it in a S12, he is cutting it to go in a S13!!! :x :-D

Just what i noted from my first practice day so possibly a load of bollocks.
Make sure the rears are in tip top condition, are they drums on a S12?
Mine has an aluminium knob that you pull out and turn that eliminates the ratchet. I will take a look sat and see if it can be replicated easily.
I should have just said i would have had it for you will know for the future

Didnt mean that to come across wrong mate! I really appreciated the call for the cage was just pissed off with the guy cutting it up to put in a s13 when s12 stuff is so rare!
The rears are discs like yours mate, i have not had them apart yet to clean them up but will do.
I will have a look for one of those handbrake handles as that sounds ideal.

It didn't mate, was just as pissed as you especially for the money.
Are they drum inside the disc type rather than a caliper handbrake?
If so should be quiet effective anyway. Never found the caliper type anygood.
Iam sure the handbrake button can be made quiet easily.

I have not had a chance to look at them yet mate. Unfortunately i have a feeling they are the caliper type though as its an old motor.
You should look at getting rid of your tailgate glass mate, if it weighs anything like mine i think i can lose 30KGS plus removing it.
