OK bit of an update.

Well after managing to borrow a decnt little welder for a while i have been able to get on with building an exaust for the car to mate up with the new bigger turbo that is on the car.

To build an exhaust i managed to get hold of a stock R34 GTR exhaust, half a new Ford Transit exhaust and my old 4" bore Nismo silencer from my system on the Skyline. Looking at all the parts i never thought i could make anything but was determined to not pay for anything unneccesary on the track car which which is being built on a budget!! I did have to get hold of a flange and reducer to start things off though at the elbow.

After lots of cutting, grinding, hammering, swearing and lying under the car with the exhaust in one hand and the welder in the other i managed to build a what i regard as a really decent side exit system which sounds nice and will meet trackday regulations.
Didnt really get any pictures of it being built but managed to get a few with it on the car, it has proper mounts and is solid.
Had to use loads of weld wire due to some of the cuts not being built to micro tolerances!!!

As you can see some home made reducing was needed to get from 2.5" into the 4" silencer! :-D

Have also managed to get the R34 GTR Skyline intercooler mounted up and will be using various hoses to connect it up next week hopefully.
have used rubber mounts on the intercooler to give it a proper mounting.

Will be using Bart and Pablos suggestion of using the wiring conduit to connect it to the inlet i think so there is not loads of metal piping needed.

Car is getting there now and should be a good fun drift car very soon.

Car is starting to come together now and it is fully running and running like a dream!! Just need to get it somewhere to set up the boost levels and everything though and being far from road legal it is hard to find somewhere.

Intercooler is all plumbed in now courtesy of some steel pipe being welded onto the original pipework and the cable conduit which pablo and bart said about.

The car has no dump valve and the turbo chatter now sounds so good!! 8)

The set about relocating the battery into the boot with a box off ebay.
We had to do this as there was no room for the intercooler pipework and it will also help with a bit of weight balance.

The cable tied the bumper back on and cut a huge hole in it for the intercooler, actually looks quite focused now from the front!! :-D

Next steps will be to put a S13 clutch in it and start to fabricate a panel for to replace the tailgate as the glass weighs too much!

Nice workn Ian, love the side exit exhaust 8)

As Lee said it may be an idea to try and set some sort of deadline for getting the car out and in use. We found that by having a deadline your more focused to get it done. Is there anything wrong with the current suspension or clutch, if they work but are just a bit old and tired I would not let this stop me getting out in the car.

Look forward to seeing the car in action :)

Thanks for the kind words everyone.

This car may look a bit shabby in places but really it is just a bit of fun to be had on the cheap!
I think a deadline would be no problem as it is ready to go out now, it is just being improved further.
The car will definitely need a clutch before it heads out as this one is on its last legs and we have just increased the power by an estimate of 80BHP!

The diff is sorted, its been welded up and put back on.
Suspension has been sorted out by fitting lowering springs which were the biggest cost on this car as we had to buy new and all the bushes have been changed for new nissan ones.

What do you reccomend for steering?

Im not sure what to do about brakes as if its being used mostly for drifting then the stock ones should be ok with a good clean up.
