On my car the pulley was reverse thread. I removed it by using a breaker bar and while my friend was applying pressure I hit it low with a hammer and it popped loose. Is the diamater smaller? this is where you will see more power since you slow down the rest of the accesories.

No it is the standard size, just lightweight.

I am amazed that the original crank pulley weighs 3 kgs, that`s a lot of weight. Would of thought being a Subaru the crank pulley would have been fairly light in the first place. Something to put on the list of wanted parts then.

I was very suprised when I prised it off the crank trying to hold it between two fingers ... it dropped :lol:

Did you manage to prize off the pulley without upsetting the timing Dunc?

There is an inner timing pulley that is independant of this so no probs there. Just a simple undo a bastard of a bolt and ease it off.

Emmm.... now I`m confused so you have changed the fan belt pulley not the crank pulley? crank pulley involves taking the timing belt off.
