When setting up our car i take into consideration what the air flow around / over the car could do.
We have recently bought a new bonnet for the car with large vents to get rid of hot air. Sitting down and thinking about it I believe that this could potentially have a negative effect on the handling of the car. As the hot air is sucked out of the top of the bonnet it will mix with cooler air this could affect the smooth air flow over the car, which in turn could affect the air flow to the rear wing.
Have you actually checked that the wing I currently getting good air? (Oil drop or wool tuft testing) Most cars have very poor airflow by the time you have passed the windsccreen. Top vent rads are generally not good for clean airflow, but it depends what you are starting with.
Doing an oil drop test on the wing before and after fitting the bonnet should tell if there is any real change in clean air flow.
Merry Xmas
