i might have an answer to my problem put a wanted post up on s/net just to get an idea whats about to cover all options and i had a pm regarding this
hi
i have exactly what you need. its a fresh rebuilt sti version 5 bottom end, with genuine low milage forged pistons and been built on sti 8 crank with acl race series bearings all round, rebuilt oil pump, the block has been acid dipped- a procees using light acid that takes off all the crap but without touching the base metal so engine is as new literally. you can check the engine numbers if you need as this is a genuine version 5 1999 ........................

spoken to him on the phone and it sounds promising and not serious money so might be worth taking the gamble,
as much as i would love to go for a torqey 2.5 i realistically just dont have the funds required to have it as i would like it, maybe in the future

new bottom end on its way to me :D
sti 8 crank/rods. acl race bearings throughout/new oil pump/ forged pistons, just need to sort some headgaskets and maybe arp head studs and i'l be back and running , although im not going to be abusing this engine until it has a few miles under its belt and also a dyno check to check fuelling etc..
then its time to think ebout the next phase which will consist of ecu (power fc and commander) turbo :undecided but could be a md....t as i have been offered one for early next year or a vf34/35 which would probably suit my needs better (and pocket) also need to think about injectors
oh and also a new fuel pump but this is needed asap just to be safe

got a new whiteline rear arb and drop links here waiting to be fitted aswell

hopefully all done for the b/p feb snetterton trackday

Well done mate - glad to see you are sticking with it and getting it sorted asap.

If a VF43 appeals then there may be one of these going in the new year :D
