Yup, it's the old Bruntingthorpe ones I was thinking about. Maybe I've got me rose-tinted glasses on ... the one I met you on was my first track experience in the scoob, first proper track experience in a car in fact, and that was the weekend I got together with Lucy :D :D

So, I wonder if we* could organise ourselves a BP driver training day, at Noth Weald perhaps, with instructors from within our ranks?

(* - I'd be happy to help with organising)

I like to think my car is a bit one off, whether good or bad, but it's the one I'd prefer to learn a few pointers in.
Aye indeed, and I note your caution about the outfit that went bust taking your money with it.

These Langley Park rally school guys though ... the header on their website (and their advert in the car section of the local paper) shows an early Evo, which would be comparable to a Scoob classic I would have thought, in terms of the learning process. However, all the action pics show their Escort, Sierra and Astra cars, not the Evo. Uh-huh. Will give them a call sometime to get some more background. Especially as they're local, I'm still interested in doing a day of theirs, so long as at least part of the day would be spent in the Evo.

Hi Logan,

Guess it's Prodrive you're interested in, but I phoned Langley Park anyway.

Apparently their GpA Evo is used for one2one instruction aimed at regular rally drivers looking to improve. The regular punters get a GpN Astra/Peug and Sierra Sapphire, so half a day of fwd, half of rwd. As individual that's

Hi andy

Yes, keen the Prodrive day in my car.

If you want a good rally day, then try http://www.extremerally.com they have places all over the UK, and use Hydunia WRC recce cars and Evo 6 Group N's, myself and my dad recently went to there one in Dalby Forest in Yorkshire. An its was a good day, only issue is we got a duff instructor, which would have probably been fine if we knew feck all about driving, abut all the people there loved it and their instructors seemed fine and on the button!

Driving an Evo on proper Forest tracks in the wet was certainly good fun, but as with all these days you never get enough time to really get into it!
