Nope, all the semi slick R rated tyres are on the 1B list.

You'll fit in fine in D8 Stu. They enjoy a good laugh and a bit of a pee take. The cameraderie is worth it regardless of the result.

Oh! and you'll also be up against Mike Blackmore :o and you know my opinion of him. Hopefully you'll give him some competition, 'coz I flippin' can't :(

I think the car will be capable of competing, it will be interesting to see whether I can.

A question regarding tyres. As previously mentioned I would use R888's in the dry and therefore go into D8. What happens when it's pissing down and I want to use the R1-R's? Do the classes remain the same?

No interior, less than the original number of seats and no rising/lowering windows will keep you in D8.

If you swap tyres, or make any changes to the car it will need to be re-scrutineered.

Afaik you will be in whichever class you entered on the regs (entry form). The only time you will be classed differently to that is, if your car doesn't comply with the regs for that class and you are re-classified by the officials. If you enter D8 and your car's rejected for some infringement, other than safety, you could be put into the Libre class which is basically 'misfits'

i really need to be doing a bit of reading up on sprinting and think about applying for license etc..

B3 TK as long as you run normal road tyres, B3 is 2000cc + Production saloon class.

No worries, the main things is interior, and road tyres, and as long as the car has the standard block and gearbox casing the rest is fairly free....

But you are only allowed +1" in diameter in wheels from standard etc....when you apply for the licence you get the blue book which states all the regs.

Its pretty easy, main things are MSA approved helmet (can't be a motorbike one). Fireproof overalls. and make sure your car is roadworthy and not leaking etc, otherwise the scutineers will not pass you. Also yellow tape on the battery earth cable, think thats the main things.

I'll be in B3 too next year.

By then I'll have aftermarket 4-pots and coilovers, but standard otherwise standard-except-decat STi4. Am hoping Andy ESL will wave his wand over the electronics at some point next year though :D

Presume B3 is same as 'J-ROAD' (from http://www.clubracer.co.uk/JISC.htm)?

What about the standard engine except filter/exhaust class, J-276, have there been any runners in that one? Right now my STi4 might comply, although I'm not sure its Subaru 4-pots are original fitment, also it has Whiteline anti-lift kit and rear bar so I guess that rules it out.

The class names might be a touch confusing, I tend to refer to them as JISC class 1,2,3 now which mirror MSA A, B3, D8.

The website will be getting a refresh by the magic of Ren soon hopefully.

Ben ran in class 1 this year to good effect in his Civic type R.
