Standard dials, heater for our lovely damp weather, everything else will be gone. (Once we've brought it back from the ring, be a bit too noisy with nowt in it)
Headlining, door cards, carpet, back seat (passenger seat after the ring too).
Buckets, harnesses, fire extinguisher set up, and a comms set up, that'll be it.
Problem is between work, family and life, not much time for the car. Never mind...

This time we had some fun stripping out the interior, and finding out exactly what would have to contend with when prepping the car. It would be the easy option to pull the interior out, chuck some sticky tyres on, some suspension and go do some track days. But our goal is to get the car to a good state of preparation, and for it to be as good as it can be for the PBMW championship, and for our trip to the Ring before that.
So out with the interior....

Out with the boot carpets etc, to discover it needs some welding and new inner arches :(

Cleaned up under the bonnet...

And then the outside....before...

With our goal being this appearance...if not spec..

So, next up is welding, cage, seats, harnesses, suspension, brakes and steering wheel :o

Update June

After a long break, due to money and an injury, got back on with the car last night for about 10 hours!
Pictures will follow, but we have worked long and hard getting the car ready for our looming 'Ring trip on the 1st August (bloody hell, where's the time gone!)
The top end of the engines been fully stripped and checked, with new followers and hydraulic tappets being fitted. We are after a new Cam to go in, and have ground the valves back etc to help with the running of the car once it's all back together.
The exhaust is off to be replaced, and while we had that off, we've pulled the rear beams off with trailing arms to be raplaced with 318is ones for the uprated brakes etc, and we'll uprate the bushes.
The gearbox has been off for the clutch to be replaced, and the gear linkage checked for play etc.
Its all going back together quite well, and once we've sourced a frightening list of parts, it'll all be going back together with the goal of having a fortnight to run around in it to iron out any teething trouble before its (and our) virgin trip to Germany.

Update with pics- less than 2 weeks to finsh it!

We've been putting in some serious work recently, but it seems as soon as we standing making some ground and finishing looks a possibility (We are supposed to be 'Ringing it on the 1st Aug.......this year  ) something else breaks, or is so knackered, we can't progress without a replacement part, and as we work on the car through out the evenings, we can't sort the parts till the following day................
Anyway, since the last pictures we've been doing some bits, with Nigel leading the way technically, and me hitting things with hammers as directed
So here it is looking a bit forlorn
Image

With rust and all the stuff that comes with a twenty year old car

Image

We pulled off the rear beam as a whole to upgrade the bushes and change the drum brakes to disc brakes from the 318is, this was also part of the plan to upgrade to the 318is suspension

Image

So while Nigel did the technical stuff, i did the lifting heavy things and cleaning stuff!

Image

Image

Brakes and polys in
Image

Largely thanks to the "Perry Puller", it laughs in the stubborn bushes!

Image

With lovely stainless braided hoses too....

Image

Image

Scorpion exhaust to go on.....not as bling as it looks, promise............

Image

Whilst under the bonnet, on top of a new head gasket we have new valve gear (Yes, all of it, GSF love us)

Image

And uprated Cam....

Image

Since these, we've done a few bits and i'll update over the next day or so. I may even figure out how to upload a video of it when it started up and was re-born!
