Interesting site Trev. I've been looking for a wheel with a couple of buttons :thumb:

Funny, I thought it was mine that was special :D

Looking good for next season. :thumb:

bad news for me today :( engines coming out , suspect head gasket failure, cars still running fine but it needs to be done soon so thought i would do a few things and get them over and done with ,
both head gaskets (might aswell rather than just changing one )
crankshaft oil seal , very slight leak from this so it may aswell be done
stainless headers
uppipe
radiator
and fit the performance friction rotors and pads

could really do without the cost this time of year but hey ho

so the apexi power fc and commander will have to wait till after xmas unless santa brings me one but i very much doubt it

Trev, Take a look in the for sale section of SIDC http://www.sidc.co.uk

There's a guy selling a load of stuff for a v3/v4 including a power FC + commander.

engines out and as suspected headgasket is knackered and so is main oil seals, so is clutch, so are belt tensioners, :? looks like cars going to cost a little more than expected dont you just love them  flywheel is of being skimmed and balanced so looking good to be completed monday
might take it for a trip to the wrc rally in wales next weekend if all goes to plan

also just bought another set of rota wheels as they were cheap, need to find best place for a set of 888's ,they currently have yoko advan AO46 tyres on and they will be used at snetterton on the 7th dec

Talk to Gary @ APT for a good deal on R888's. Make sure he knows you're a member (in the nicest sense of course ;) )

Or Camskill do them at a good price. :)

Shame you didn't mention the flywheel, I have a lightened one here. Was going to use it on mine but the new one comes with a f/w.

well as you may know engine is dead so thought i would update my project thread insted of posting on the trackday thread,

engine sounds like a few nuts and bolts have been thrown in there, its not a constant knocking , firing on all four and idling nicely, give it a little rev and it sounds like there is things bouncing around inside :?
anyway sounds expensive

i need to look at my options on what i do from here

1. pick up a secondhand sti engine/bottom end and pray it has what it is supposed to have inside

2. go for a rebuild of my engine and put what i want in there

3. get engine rebuilt at the minimum cost minimum work and pray or sell on

4. go all out and go for a fully forged 2.5 and all the goodies to go with it

5. say bollocks and get rid of the car or sell in bits to try and recoup some money i put into it and take up golf

decisions decisions

trouble is im not one for keeping my cars for very long, although i honestly belive i will keep this one for a few years (as long as it dont keep doing this to me) another problem is it has come at a bad time of year, very little work lined up and dont know what next year will bring etc etc..

on a plus note my new brakes worked well

I would go for option two Trev. Second hand stuff and hoping for the best is pointless at this stage.

Money no object builds are great if money is of 'no object'. I suspect like a lot of us, money is :)

You know your car is a great base to build on. Option two at a steady pace is the way to go in my opinion :thumb:

Best of luck.
