Tan wasn't fussed about the Hilux, it just needed to be an auto and have good crash protection. The fact that I told her it had to tow a car and should be suitable for our half mile long farm track were mere incidentals.

I chose a Toyota as our local dealer is absolutely superb. Service is one of the most important factors for me.

I used a 2.5td to tow the Sierra to Cadwell and it was bloody excellent. I reckon you would get 400 miles towing for

Thanks Stuart, definately food for thought as I was thinking I could use one for towing my car to Sprints etc, as then if the worst happens i can always get the car home...

Logan. I will be bringing my Hilux to the meet on Wednesday as I think the manifold gasket has gone in the GTR.

It is the 3.0l turbo diesel D4D engined Hilux Invincible, which is the top spec double cab with leather, cruise control, air con, sat nav, alloys etc.

It returns an average of 30.5 mpg with the auto box and is not too sluggish when pushed.

You are more than welcome to come for a spin in it if you are coming to Snett on wenesday night.
