Hankook RS2 on the 1A list?

Post by Andy916 »

At Cadwell I was impressed at how well my bargain-basement 'kooks worked in the cold and damp ... and so wondered which MSA list they were on, if any?

[I ended up not joining MSA this year, but will next year so that I can do JISC and maybe others]

Thanks Duncan, I guess they're not that common, so not listed. It's a track-biased carcass, with a bit more tread than an RE070 for example, and Graham the instructor commented that they gripped well last Saturday. They felt pretty good on the way home too, so I might be tempted to run them on the road for a while.

They look good aswell.

I might have to look into some of them - where did you get them?

That's the one. Damn, was hoping it was 1A!

At the price, and from what little I could find written, they were worth a try I thought. From the tread pattern I'd assume there's less grip than from a proper semi-slick trackday tyre, but I'm not sure how much less. Seem quite soft, even last Saturday grip was going off at the end of a longer session (20mins?).

If the prices are close to what they are doing those RS2's for them it looks like an interesting road legal tyre for (dry) track days 8)
