Hey all,
I have an '89 200sx with a CA18DET. The clutch and bearing was replaced just over 4 months ago, but now the throw out/clutch release bearing is no good. This due to drifting. I have a reconditioned tranny and gearbox waiting to go in the car, but I can't find the bearing anywhere online. I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction or possibly had a old CA laying around.
Also, I have just aquired this car for really cheap and this will be my first transmission replacement. I was wondering how long a job like this would take with all the proper tools, etc.
Thanks for your help!!!!!
Where can I find a clutch release / throw out bearing???

Try Automotive Bearings in Wisbech, they carry a lot of bearings but Im unsure if they sell to the public, If they dont the try BRT bearings (also in Wisbech)

thank you very much!!!! I have sent both companies an email and now I'm just waiting for a reply.
Oh... how long do you think this whole process will take me? Replacing the transmission and all? It will be my friend and I who both know quite a bit about cars, but have never replaced a tranny before.
Thanks again.
cheers

TBH I couldnt tell you how long it will take, I've never replaced a tranny in mine. I've had the engine out more times than I care to count though.
The easiest way is to get a 2 poster lift if you can. other than that some ofthe bolts can be a complete git to get to. It may be easier to take the engine and box out all in one go.
