24V 525 manual- cheap ring trip car

Post by Rob S »

This car replaced my '89 XR4x4 recently
As much as i'd love a weekend toy, my circumstances dictate one car to commute, one car to carry my family, and that same car to play in.
I knew i wanted a manual car, preferably RWD, and it needed to be big enough to fit everyone into, but still chuckable.
And without a real clue about what make or model to aim for, took this for a spin, and was stunned at how good a drive it was for its age. There's enough power to put a smile on my face (192BHP) great build quality, and good handling-albeit nothing on my old 4B.
My plan is to get it straight and fit for a trip to the Ring in the Spring. (I am looking to enjoy the whole trip, not set a new lap record.)
BMW@Brands on the 6th Dec looks good too, after its serviced and Alpina style wheels are on.

A lovely car for the money and one I think you'll have a lot of fun with. I would just stick with the basics, make sure its well serviced and go and have some fun :thumb:

Better to be out there and doing it with a cheap car than having an expensive car broken and sitting at home doing sweet FA.

Looks like a very clean car there and best of it's free motoring. If you decided to change it in a years time you would easily get your money back. A great buy :)
