This was an awful accident and I couldn't help thinking:-
a) How lucky the people involved were
b) How important safety equipment is when really pushing on.
Simon Norris has kindly offered to pay

I was reading about this yesterday on a couple of forums. Simon Norris was being slated for poor driving. From what I gather, he's a good enough driver for speed events but when it comes to racing he has little experience and different values and attitude need to be applied. Maybe it was too little race experience in too powerful a car.

Bloody hell, thats a serious shunt. Its a shame there aren't any shots of the cage/floor as it would be interesting to see how it took the hit.
As Stuart says it demonstrates how essential good saftey equipment is, it never pays to cut corners anywhere where saftey is concerned.

There's a lot of shit being posted about this. I think he seems abit aggressive, trying to keep up with the Evo's in front, bashing one off at one point.
I would be very interested in Maxx's opinion.

Looked to me that his lines were wrong for the corners. looking up the inside of the car in front whilst approaching a corner meant a too early apex and running wide on exits. The straight line speed was there but lost in the cornering.
It all seemed rather frantic where the leaders were much smoother.
But that's just my opinion.
Thank goodness everyone walked away from it.
