Un-Britishness
Without turning this into a alcohol influenced rant, I think the point of a lack of a 'voice' is highly relevant. Many of us are unhappy with some aspects of the culture or society that we live in, but what do we do about it? In many cases, nothing.
Jasons example of being asked for schtum at their recent sports day typifies the ridiculous state we're in. How on Earth can that be right? Sports are competitive. That is the whole point.
I think this whole attitude towards not wanting to upset or offend is a far more wide spread problem than we perhaps realise. This is nothing to do with race, culture or religion. This affects us all, everyone that lives in the UK. The Australians, as an example, don't seem to suffer. Their laws and thoughts are seem to be much more transparent.
The more worrying thing is that the standards of behaviour and conduct are being eroded as time goes on. Parents we see seem scared to discipline their kids. Teachers are definitely scared, as they don't get support from the authorities or parents. The Police are tied down with what they can and can't do.........you can't even clip someone around the ear if they bugger around. There is no respect anymore and with no fear of repurcussions, those that are so inclined can do whatever they want.
If my words or feelings upset anyone or offend, I'm really really sorry. I will apologise to each of you individually as soon the socialist numpties that are running this counrty into the ground are kicked out.
