Which pads...........

Just testing the water with a view to a potential group buy....

What brand of pad and type do you/ would you use? I will pick a few favourites but if you feel I haven't included the ones that you use, just add it in your response

I expect the group buy to kick off at the start of October so this is particularly relevant if you need something replacing then. The more feedback I get, the better the group buy will be, the better the numbers who take part, the more money you'll save.

Are these just front pads stu? I am currently using EBC yellow and red but would like to improve rear pads.

I'd go for Yellows for track work and DS2500's for the road.

I'm for trying DS3000s. The 2500s don't last very long on the civic, I'm on my fifth set in 12 months.

I have voted for the DS2500 because I have heard good things about them, but I am open to advice on which would be best for the road and occasional track use, although I am hoping to use the car alot more on track next year. Obviously the cheaper the better as I have to justify the cost to my good lady as I'm sure many of us do

I would vote definitely NOT the DS2500's - they are expensive, overpriced and are definitely not suitable for heavy cars as they overheat and leave carbon deposits on your discs. This makes them feel like they have been warped == > effectively throw away time.

Just ask Gary how crumbly and destroyed my pads were after 5000 miles - shocking

My Performance Friction pads on the other hand have never faded, never done anything other than slow me down on track at the required rate. They have done 20,000 miles so far and is still about 4-5 mil of pad left on them.

I'm currently on porterfield RS4 pads all round and so far can not fault them. i would definately get them again if they were easier to get hold of.
Other than that i was impressed by what Dan@PFC had to say and I might try them soon
