Not the best of days

What with the tragic news of Colin McRae and a couple of nasty accidents at last week's Brands Hatch sprint where Kim had a big off and damaged his Evo and the guy with the Lotus Sunbeam, whom I'd met at Debden earlier in the year also had a big off, there wasn't much to celebrate in a class win. A further possible tragedy, earlier this afternoon, was a helicopter crash, or so it was said, less than a mile from the paddock.

Not much else to say really other than I hope next week's HCC event can be enjoyed as it should.

Congratulations Gerry. I understand you playing it down, you're a decent sort, but I'm sure no-one involved would want to reduce your enjoyment of the acheivement.
See you next weekend mate. Back to back victories would be nice :D

I belive both drivers were unhurt but, like with yourself, you get to know the regulars and the day's not complete when they're not there competing.

Thought you were going to stop by today Logan?

Hi Spence, It was Bladey's comment on the Colin McRea thread that got me wondering, so I did a search for helicopter NW just to check what may have happened and couldn't believe that story.

Thank goodness the occupants were able to walk away from that one otherwise motorsport would have been devastated further.
