I've been trying to get the video from Marham onto the computer using Pinnacle editing software. The computer sees the camera via firewire connection and the software sees and controls the camera, playback, rewind etc. but I get no video loaded into the programme.
There's a test application that came up with a rendering message, on one occasion and I now get a 'cannot create video capture filter' message. I've updated the latest version of software and tried another firewire card but still no good.
Any suggestions as to what I need to do/download/get?
TIA

Hi JJ. I don't think the problem is with the camera as it downloaded from it OK for April's Marham. I can't remember whether I've changed anything on the computer since then.
I don't know if I need a video capture card? Or is it all done by software?

Have you tried the same process but using microsoft movie maker ...
Additional I connect my camera via usb - I have not installed the manufacturers software to my machine so am using the standard XP drivers and it's works a treat.
Try uninstalling the software that came with your camera ... connect the camera and see if you can import through moviemaker.

Tried Movie Maker and get the same thing.
Tried USB and the computer doesn't see the connection.
The camera didn't come with software iirc.
The camera only appears in Device Manager when it's connected via firewire and switched on.
The test programme with Pinnacle is MS AM Capture which comes up with the filter and render errors.
