Marham update

Post by Stuart »

Gerry was kind enough to ring me to spread the news that there are tyre changing facilities at the event this weekend.

Great news for anyone attending. Make sure you take some money for donations :thumb:

well i've just got back not far for me to travel even at 5mph :( i live/work on camp

it was a great day good to meet a few of the people off the board MJP, Jungle Jim, SteveVR6 theres probably more but i'm not the best with names, also big thanks Jim for the passenger ride mucho fun had :-D

my car didn't do too bad on track with me just taking it easy down the straights but giving some beans in the corners getting the back end to step out on the many tight corners hopefully theres a few good shots somewhere on the internet soon even of me spinning it twice and taking out two cones right in front of the pit crowd :-D :-D

the afternoon didn't start too well tho went out for the first session of the afternoon took the out lap nice and steady letting the temps build up but as soon as i got back to the pits put my foot down in second gear down tho the first corner when myself and my passenger heard an almighty BANG and all power was lost i immediately pulled over and got out of the car, as soon as it was safe to do so i opened the bonnet only to be shown a hole in the block where the sump bolts to it at the front of the engine :(

as the marshal's checked for any debris back up the track they handed me a lump of cast iron and ally still with two bolts bolted in and another shiny cylindrical item that i can only think is the gudgeon pin :o , so thats the end of that got to have a look as to why its gone bang with no indication it was even going to go no noise's what so ever didn't even drop any fluids and temps never got that high during the day and oil pressure was always good

overall tho great day i still enjoyed it alot even tho i blew my engine up oh well sh*t happens and again good to meet a few more members of BP and again thanks to jim for the passenger ride had a rite hoot drifting in skyline :-D

As I said on the phone mate,

absolutely gutted for you, but we'll see what we can do and maybe we can sort something.

I'll pop up tommorow and see ya then.

Well iam home and knacked, top day. :thumb:

Good to catch up with every one and put a few more "user names" to faces
( still seems so rude only knowing user names should try harder).

Tyre issues are all sorted and very happy with the colway's cracking tyre for the price.

Only one issue of the day a cv boot popping of but that was it!

Circuit was 10x the previous circuit back in Sept 2006 a very good combinations.

:stick: Sorry if i was a bit over excited toward the end but adrenaline was pumping
a bit to hard! Got a telling off [-X but the little car does break so well due to
it weight and i couldn't catch the more powerful cars on the straights. Showed
of my muscles a few time lifting the rear end totally clear off the ground didnt
realise it was really that light!

Got to improve my track day etiquette i think.

Hope everyone enjoyed there pax laps, the young marshall soon grabbed on
to the roll cage.

Ps got you 7mm socket in my pocket Stu will return it at the meet!!! Oh and tell
your father in law great pirouette

=D> Cheers for the day Keith hope your replacement can keep it up, :notworthy:
would there be a possibility that a drift section could be set up as most flags
seemed to be them and i might be one of them next time :!: :!:

So who has pics and footage then :?: :?: :?:

Oh another thing had quiet a few people asking whos BIGPOWER hits may go up this week!
Image
" Uh Betty you should of seen this car in Ely today!! it had stickers and stripes
all over it, and when it started up, the noise!!!, I could feel my teeth rattling!!!"

Thanks for the comments and glad you enjoyed yourself. We can't have a drift-specific circuit because we dont have the room(I can't use the south of the airfield at all) or the mashals to do both.

Good to see you guys here and there's no doubt that Big Power have a permenant invite to this event.

Cheers

Keith
