Dirt PS3

Post by Stuart »

Just been playing the Colin McRae demo for PS3 and thought I'd share some thoughts.

Graphics are crisp, better than Forza I would say although they may struggle to match the new Progect Gotham or GT. Vehicle models are nice and detailed :D

Menu and interface is superb. Interesting loading screens show your previous bests for jump distance, top speed, amount of distance travelled without damage etc etc. All infinitely preferable to staring at a cycled message or blank screen

Physics seem good so far, my only niggle is that the American demo features Travis Pastrana rather than our Colin on voiceover. Hopefully this feature will be region specific like a lot of the other Codemaster titles. Nothing against Travis of course!

The game comes out in a week or so and based on hooning around on it, I'd recommend it highly :thumb:

I have it on the 360 and my word is it a challenging game !!!!!

I think the physics are spot on (not that I do rallying in my Rex !!!) and concentrating on one stage for about 5 mins or go knackers you !!!!

Thoroughly recommended, only niggle is that it is a bit dark in places and you'll find yourself putting the brightness up on your tv.

Have they changed the physics from the 360 version? I gotta say i thought theyd gone far too arcady on this, and that the brakes seem to slow you from daft speeds with little sliding even on the all the loose surfaces.

In my humble opinion, nothings beaten Richard Burns Rally yet.

No idea Maff. They 'seem' to play differently but that may be the look of the game (as in the PS3 looks like it was designed now and not 5 years ago like the 360 one :D )

Download the demo from the store and see what's what.
