Snetterton 22/08/07 drift night.

As Gerry mentioned I spoke to the Circuit Operations Manager earlier today and he was extremely reasonable about the whole thing, to the point where we only have to pay actual costs for the repairs, not the normal inflated 'pull your trousers down' stuff that some people may have done, so I am very grateful to him for that :notworthy:

It was a good event, even allowing for several maladies, and I'm sure that the future drift events will be bigger and better still. I should have an answer for you all on the new venue within the next few weeks :thumb:

Good on Snet, was a bit worried about that as part of the MV empire but unneccessarily it would seem. Did he give an indication of cost Stu? Can we make a donation to the big power paypal to help?

Can I give a bigup to Stu (nongayway), who ran around looking after people all night, took the flak for the carnage and stood out in the rain directing traffic with Nik. He looked just a tad weary at the end of the night.

just had time to post up now, it was an awesome evening and i had a great time excluding weather! i will also gladly give to the " fence cause" no hesitation. It is good to see a lot of people progressing in such a short period as was said, which is why hopefully we can secure another local drift venue...... thanks again for a great evening...........

sorry to get to meet you properly in such circumstances gerry and i am glad you can take it on the chin.

it was one of those moments i felt would/could ruin what a great set up we had.

but i was surprised everyone still carried on!!

such a shame.....

at least the man in the van got to use his blue flashy lights!! :-D

the kids loved it too watching.

Had a great time last night to my first introduction to actually having a go at drifting!!

After a week or so of late nights and some moments of sitting on the hard shoulder wondering what i was doing it was great to see how the S12 would perform, it was great fun and although i was a bit hap hazard with my drift 'techniques' i really cant wait to get in it again do some more drift events.

You guys that have been doing it for a while really do make it look easy when it really isnt!! :thumb:

I hope everyone had a bit of a laugh looking at my cold air feed (broken motor) headlight, BOV (dodgy horn) and 'interior is for wimps' dashboard! :-D

Real sorry to see what happened to you Gerry it could so easily have been anyone of us mate, i thought i was taking a short cut into the paddock at one point!! I think it would be a good idea for everyone to chip in towards the fence fund to help you out.

Lets get another drift event sorted out soon. 8)

well done everybody another great drift session , thankyou to those who stood out in the crap weather to allow us to drift

in our dry cars .

Gerry don't beat yourself up too much when you "walk the walk" the law of averages say that incidents will happen ,

it could of happened to any one. i'm with the other guys on helping contribute to the fence .

i will be looking forward to the new venue and hopefully trying alter the bmw's handling as it is rubbish (or i am rubbish) anyway something is rubbish and needs changing :-D

Well, the second wagon is now back home. My son fetched it round earlier today and the breaking and transferring of doors, wings, etc. will be started very soon.

He also brought his X Box and a game called Forza 2? He reckons I may learn how to drive an Impreza, given time. :oops: He showed me all the upgrades that are available and their effects on the car. I'll have to give it a try. :roll:

Andys summary was spot on. 'Walking the walk' brings risks and rewards and I think that's why there is the level of respect for each other on here that few other sites enjoy.

We did try and get Maz to take the Gloria uber-barge around there but he was having none of it (Maybe next time)
