Great evening, glad to hear that Gerry got back ok. Also had a nice meal on the way back to Birmingham......... 2 bags of crisps :lol:
I know Bart had a great time also, giving his daily drive some good loving :lol:

Anyone else curious why they put a fence so close to the track? I know good fences make good neighbours, but there is nothing for miles!

Is there anywhere else that we do this locally that has bigger run offs?

Don't think it was built as a drift circuit initially, it was just decided that it could be used for drifting.

I think there's a place in Lynn that does drifting, maybe you know it?

What can I say? I'm really pissed over what happened. As I said to ESL Andy when he kindly phoned to check I'd got home OK, I've spent the last four years with this car and for a lot of that time, fitted whatever I could to improve the chassis, suspension and handling, so it goes where you point it in a stable and predictable manner.

First stupid act was taking it onto the drift course and second was pushing it even harder to try getting it to break away. The latter being something quite alien to how I usually try to drive it.

I can only apologise for spoiling everyone's evening and causing the damage to the fencing. I sincerely hope it will not spoil the excellent relationship between the circuit and Big Power. I feel gutted for Stu who now has to face the music tomorrow with the Management and if there's anything I can do to help, I hope he'll let me know.

Reading the above posts confirms what a great club this is. The camaraderie of the membership gives a true feeling of belonging and makes me feel proud to be associated with a great bunch of people.

Andy, Bealo didn't get locked in. we left him waiting for the lowloader but he was outside the circuit by then and a patrol had been to see him already.

Matt, it was originally used for skid pan training years ago.

George, do you mean Norfolk arena?

Gerry, I am sure the fence can be sorted as I'm sure your car can. The main thing is that you weren't injured. Metal and concrete can be repaired but flesh and bones take a bit longer.

Glad to hear you got back ok Gerry - I couldnt believe my eyes when i saw you go off but as I said to you I do think you got fastest lap of the evening

From an outsider's point of view the damage was small really (considering how much fence and how many post were taken out) with a headlight and a dented front wing, but more importantly thank god it was raining and those posts pulled out of the ground easy

A big thanks to Nik for directing the evening and well done to everyone for rallying round to help both on the night and for the future - I am sure everything will be okay with the circuit :thumb:

ps - we now know who does the mechanical work with Pablo and Bart's Car
