mk1 mr2
It's definately been interesting building it, almost cut one of my fingers off against a sharp edge on the sump the other day (could actually see bone and everything)stuartstaples wrote:I have to say that looks like enormous fun. Interesting to see that you're veering away from drift Paul. Is that due to the car that you have chosen or do you just fancy having a fight with the Sierra
Do you have an ETA for the next time you'll be using the car in anger?
I will still have a play at drifting it but i've come to the conclusion the car would be wasted just focussing on that, so shes gonna be an allrounder 8)
It shouldn't be too long now till its trackworthy, i set the timing up better today so she runs lovely now and also fixed the coolant leak.
Right now i just need a pair of oil seals where the driveshafts go into the transaxle and we'll be good to go.
Really though i want to fix the rot around the rear arches first as well, i've ordered a complete repair kit for both sides (see pic)

which should be here next week.
I'd say, 100% it'll be perfect in late september.
Although saying that it'll be trackable (with either rot, or covered in primer a month earlier).

That's it, basically come into the corner way to fast, forget about braking with your foot, press the clutch down and pull the hydro sliding the car into the corner from about 15 meters out.
Then let go of clutch/handbrake at the right time and on the power to drift through the corner..... great fun when you get it right :-D
