UK Impreza wagon MY98

Post by Gerry H »

Bit of a story but I won't go into it.

I bought this car, last year, to use as a track car. The idea being to strip it out and transfer the bits from my STi wagon which I would then put to standard and sell. I advertised the bits I didn't want, ie gearbox, interior, etc. Guy came round to look at the interior and decided he'd like te car instead. So, it needed a few things doing to it, like putting back to standard and by the time it was ready (I made sure all the new bits were good), he'd got fed up waiting and bought something else.

My son's CRX was needing a load of work for the MOT so I let him use this and he'd pay me over a period. That was last Dec. and now it's my turn to be fed up waiting.

I had someone interested but they've been offered a classic Ford Cortina  and can't make his mind up.

So:

First things first. It's HPI Cat F which means it's been fire damaged and deemed an uneconomical repair, that was a few years ago.
MY98 Subaru Impreza Wagon, in white. 76K miles. MOT & Tax til Dec.
Standard apart from back box, Dawes device thingy and paddle clutch.
Body, interior, mechanics are all fine. I drove it last night for the first time since I bought it, due to my insurance not covering me before, and it drives very nicely, despite a paddle clutch

Here's some pix, if anyone's interested, PM as it'll take an age to tell it's history. The 17" Sti wheels will be replaced with OE 16"

Some paintwork is cracking on the side skirts. Could do with replacing.

It's actually a very nice car. It needs a few bits tidying and I'm rather loathe to sell it. I could break it as I already have a 'buyer' for the doors & wing  but it's too nice for that. It'd do someone a favour if you ignore the HPI bit and it's priced accordingly.

Anyway, I already have a Xantia
