Copper is very toxic to plants, it's toxic full stop. You could try hammering some short pieces of tube into the ground around it. Or maybe some copper sulphate solution.

I've killed off a willow stump by hammering short pieces into it, not tried copper sulphate and an ex neighbour managed to kill all his standard roses when, instead of support canes, he used lengths of copper tube he had laying about
Handle every stressful situation like a dog. If you can't eat it or hump it, piss on it and walk away!

No need to be sharp matey!!

I just thought you would get the opinions from a wider audience if you put it in 'this and that'.

Liquid nitrogen...(if you can get it) spray it.. freeze it, smack it with anything.. and then watch it shatter into lots of little pieces

Only know about this as the partners father deals in for seperating gasses at work..
