OK, this next practice night is held at Snetterton on their Skid Pan. This is a small oval tarmac section which is pretty narrow, so I guess second or third gear tops. The run off is not that generous, hence the need to keep peoples speed a bit on the steady side.

Welcome aboard Rach,
The track is second gear, it will help beginners get a feel for clutch kick, letting go of the steering wheel, the correct point to turn in, balancing the car on the throttle and weight shift. Giventhat alot of these are things normally noticed only in passing and even when on track something alot of people dont concentrate on due to braking points and lines being their principle concern it is a good basis for learning to drift.
It also has the nice quirk that its simple enough to not be impossible for newbies to have a go, but if you want to link the whole course then it CAN be done, but requires a bit of skill and judgement, alot of the people who have been a couple of times now are aiming to do "one end" of the layout as a single drift now which is a nice target to aim for.
