cool so to get the best look what do you do and use? e.g. brands, methods etc.drifter wrote:Yep, the clay removes all the contaminents on the pain. Personally I wash it with any old soap, Halfords own at the moment. Do the car bit by bit, wash a bit and the rinse the soap of before it drys. As you go round try to keep all areas wet until you have finished cleaning. I use a Mequires waffle drying cloth, much better than a shammy leather. Go over the car with the clay, wiping away the lubicant as you go. I only clay twice a year, never needed any more than that. Once the car is clayed all over I use AutoGlym Super Resin polish, applied with a Mequires applicator foam pad. I then buff it off with an electric buffer and use a Mequires polishing cloth to remove any residue/powder. Again do one panel at a time. AutoGlym glass polish on the er...glass
using a different applicator pad and removed by hand with the polishing cloth. For the wheels I use Turtle Wax wheel cleaner, soak for a while and then soapy water and wash off with water. When washing down I use a watering can rather than a hose. The hosepipe tends to leave little drops of water which dry quickly and leave marks. One thing the clay is good for is removing bug splatter from the windscreen. It will never be the same standard as Refined Reflections, but it does make the paint like glass and have a deep shine
