santa pod mon 30th

Post by max1 »

was a great day for me although one of my new fibreglass doors proved too weak fo 9 sec runs and blew off at 100+mph
ripping it in two ,but with carefull rebuilding and 2 reels of gaffa tape i continued .i managed 12 runs in total most in the nines 9.8 ,9.9 etc ,in the afternoon i came across a gearbox problem that made the box jump gear so i practised 60ft s
and nailed them down to 1.4 sec ,unfortunately for others there was a lot of breakages the project gtst car broke on only its second test pass and proved terminal also the new dragon rx7 spat out its gear box into a hundred pieces .i feel for trackday addict as he hired the pod and got little use for his money and more heartache with the car ,keep ya chin up mate it will always fix .any one with photos or video can they please contact me
thanks max1

What a shame for John. These bloody cars can kick you pretty hard in the bollocks if you'll let them.

Well done Mark, gaffa tape is a racers friend :D

Driving a fast Jap import is like coming out of the closet, you might surprise some people, but in the end you are still gay.

Please tell me the door blew off on a 9 second pass?

Bad news for John, at least when he gets it all sorted out it will be one hell of an animal.

Did you establish why one of the doors failed? I was considering these for next year but as I was hoping to go a bit quick (not your quick but my quick) I'm now a little concerned about things flying off?

Did your ones use the original mounting points> have you spoken to the manufacturer to see what they reckon> will you use these again or are you reverting to steel doors again?

One of the Skyline owners took a few videos of peoples runs and caught Marks door flying off :o

A huge shame for John Bradshaw, GT-Art and project GTST, but john is confident that it will be back in action for Rotorstock in two weeks time 8) When the engine let go, oil was sprayed over the left rear tyre and John went sideways @ 140mph :o
