Barkston this sunday?

Post by Andy916 »

Hi all,

Just back after a few days away.

Am due to be doing Barkston this Sunday but am going to have to cancel :(
...or see if I can transfer to 16 Sept or 14 Oct.
I've found a number for Ian Hamer so will give him a call.

cheers
Andy

Yes, yes and yes! :D

Drove it home last night and all seems good. It had engine rebuild 8k miles ago and replacement box/clutch 20k ago. Previous owner had the engine blowup 200 miles after buying it :o. Andy at Special Scoobies Colchester did the rebuild, and I got a pretty good impression from talking to him before I bought the car. Total mileage is high, 120k, but with newish droplinks/antilift kit/alignment it drives really well. Car is basically standard. Am going to resist the temptation to put my suspension/brakes onto it - I want to treat those as a learning experience, sell them, and save up for better ones ... KWv3's possibly, for a start.

Urgently need to sell my old one now, and will probably be taking it back to standard this weekend.

cheers
Andy

Ahh, I thought it had blown up as you were thinking of buying it! Got the wrong end of the stick!

Good stuff then, top spec :D I look forward to seeing it :!:

Missed this one. Shame you can't make it on Sunday Andy. Car sounds good though.

Wonder how Barkston has fared after today's rain. Bedford seems to have gotten off lightly, at least I think so. Airfield should be pretty well drained but it's the surrounding roads.

Anyone else going? Ben?

Andy, ESL is the guy to ask. There were spectators there last time but they may have arrived as passengers. I think you'd need to get there earlyish too as the gate was manned by one of the marshalls.

Not much help I'm afraid but it'd be good to see you if you can make it.
