Discs and Pads have now done 16000 miles including 3 track days and 18 laps of the Ring.

Yesterday at Cadwell was to be the big test for them and I can proudly say that they passed with flying colours :D

I spoke to Dan from Performance Friction the night before and must admit that I was a little dubious that they would be able to cope having gained a slight braking judder on the road with easy braking - this disappeared through a proper re-bedding in on track during the familiarisation laps.

They coped with several long stints perfectly, only fading slightly once which made me overshoot the hairpin a tad but always hauling me to the correct speed for Park curve and Mansfield despite carrying extra speed from the previous corners with Maxx's help.

The pads still have about 6mm of material left on them too, so good for a few more miles still too 8)

Top stuff, so really they are good value then, at what seems an expensive purchase, to get that many miles out of them trouble free. :D

I still think you must brake like a girl tho

you can opt to step up to the next friction material to get more ability if needed but the .11 / z-rated are a fantastic all round option...........

Alyn, would these .11 z rated pads not then take more warming up in normal use?

I suppose the best option is to have a set of road biased pads and the true track pad to get the best of both worlds :!:

I will call you later regrading what we spoke about last week if thats okay?

I was discussing that with Dan as it happens Alyn - I think I will go for the 01 pads at the front next time just to give an extra bit of headroom in the braking department :thumb:

The Z pads were perfectly able to bring on ABS right through the sessions though so I have to say that they do the job really well.

Andy and I kept forgetting to Heat Gun the discs though so I dont know what temps they actually got to (must get some heat paint)

Logan: He doesn't brake like a girl!

Amazingly my Godspeeds sort of held up despite a bit of judder, a longer pedal and a small rotor crack. Did better than I had expected. They were making some unusual noises on the way home though so will be coming apart for an inspection.

Agreed, I like your approach of not just equating the amount you spend to how good a product is!!

A lot of people buy the full AP's, etc and will never even use 50% of what they can do, but its a bling thing, or pub talk to say, I have 20 pot AP's with 550mm discs blah blah!
