I would only look at Adobe CS2 or PSP ... however with most modern camera's now days you get a free piece of editing software ... have you looked at what came with you digi camera?.

Photoshop cs3 evaluation is available from the adobe website for a 30 day trial, if you want to have a play. I do agree it is expensive, but it is the daddy.

PS CS2 is available on ebay and a full boxed version goes for about

CS2 is excellent - I've learnt to use it by reading the manuals and buying the monthly magazines.

I'll be giving CS3 a bash shortly, then will save the few hundred required to buy the bugger.

Stick with the Gimp, being a linuxite i use it for all my arty needs and photo retouching and if your familiar with photoshop but dont want to have to pay cash monies then theres always "Gimp Shop" The Gimp but modified so that it resembles photoshop:

I just love mucking around with the aesthetics on cars whether its paint colours, new wheels, complete makeovers etc. I spend more time on the paint section of Forza than I do the game :D
