Woodbridge track day on Sat!
Sun- trying to fix a friends water damaged Alfa 156. She drove through a big puddle a few days ago when we were having large rain. Car died, so Rac man tried to fix. Tried to turn it over and tried towing it but could not start it. Took the plugs out and found the cylinders are full of water! and left! Went round today after a trip to Wilco, bought a battey electolyte checker (turkey baster) and some washer tubing. Got the water out and put it all back together. Went to start, click, click. Tried a jump start, click click. Called the RAC, starter motor mate. Nope, engine siezed. Rac man left.
Old trick i learned, old school boys with siezed mopeds might remember. Poured some Coke down each cylinder and waited five minutes, put into fith and rocked back and forward.
Sploosh! coke spurts out of spark plugs and cylinders free!
Starts her up and top end rattly as hell, must of bent a valve or jumped a tooth on the timing belt!
Alfa 156 twin spark for sale spares or repair!
But i did manage to watch GP in between.

Jazzymonkey i would imagine that the car suffered from hydraulic lock and it may have bent a couple of conrods etc!

Ian, next time i am heading out i will give you a text to see if you are around. Pity i did not see you as i must have covered most of the B-roads in the county today!!

Sadly my car never came out all weekend !!!

No reason other than I was pretty lazy....and we went to a party in deepest Naaarfalk sat night where I was told that it would be a better idea to bring Emmas car because we'd be parking in a muddly field that mine would end up ploughing !!!

Will be getting some filler this week to finish the bonnet and getting it sprayed hurrah.

Glad to hear you made good use of the weather though mate, we managed a bbq before it started raining this eve.

Thanks, shame its a nice car but as Alfa's are, not much resale value! Especially with a buggered donk!

Sarah and I went to the Retro show at Santa Pod on saturday and got rather badly sunburnt :D It was a good day with some reasonably quick oldschool metal going down the strip.

Yesterday I just chilled mainly. Watched the grand pix, mowed the lawn, and that was pretty much it really.
I may be getting older but I REFUSE to grow up :D

Went bowling Friday and got completely piss drunk, still bowled a 150 on the fourth game   Saturday called Chris at H Tech Styling and scheduled a meet up time in Norwich for my f'd up front bumper. Sat. night more drinking, not too much though  Sunday, met up with some friends at Snetterton for a good watch at madmen on two wheels, fairly relaxed weekend!
