Will actually post up pictures of things happening soon/dyno printouts/facts rather than just gassing about stuff I have ordered... makes boring reading in hindsight - sorry

You're wrong there Duncan! It's interesting to read what mods. people are planning and what they hope to achieve by doing so. Whether it be to gain more power, better handling, overcome a problem, it all makes for good reading. It could also be usefull, in the planning stage, in case someone's already tried something without success. Could save time and money.

You do, of course, have to post where benefits have been gained and also where there are none. Otherwise, it's boring :D

Some Actual Pictures !!

Firstly the Roger Clark Motorsport Radiator Cooling Plate

Took all of 1 minute to fit and from what I can see from water temps might have reduced the temps but it is always difficult to tell. Looks pretty though.

Carbon is so last year ;)

A close up on the badge...

Because of the weight gain that Gerry H pointed out I thought I ought to strip some weight to compensate. The underbonnet sound proofing was stripped (read ripped) off to bring it back to sqaure one. Who knows this might make the engine bay cooler aswell.

Hi Duncan,

Will look forward to seeing the beast in action at the 16th July Cadwell shakedown.

My first ever bike trackday was at Knockhill, although I never raced there. I can photocopy the relevant pages of my circuit guide if you like? (detailed notes on each corner) Duffus dip is the highlight, think Paddock Hill bend at Brands but then entering a complex instead of a straight exit. Fair chance of rain there due to location halfway up a big hill, so having decent wet tyres will be worth a thought - maybe RE070's on your other wheels? Am just guessing but maybe they're better than the Yokos in the wet. How much chance do you have to warm the tyres in TA? The drop in temperature due to water cooling can be as much your enemy as [lack of] tread, although you'll need some tread if there's standing water!

Facilities are fairly minimal there, no garages IIRC (few years ago, maybe they've built some now?)

all the best
Andy

Thanks Andy - was planning on travelling up on the RE070's and using them if the weather is crap, but I will test both against the clock.

For the qualifying sessions of TA you get a bit of time to warm them up but for the hot lap - it is one warm up lap - one hot lap - one cool down :(

That RCM badge must be worth 10 BHP 8)

I stripped the sound-proofing from my ali bonnet, which replaced the original steel one. The idea being that the padding would also be holding the temps so, by removing it would allow the ali to absorb the heat and then radiate/dissipate it to atmos. The bonnet stay is still unbearably hot though. Need to get the bonnet lifters that Darkstars has on his car.

I had Yoko A048s on for last years SSO handling circuit and was surprised how much grip was there even with standing water.
