Thanks for the positive comments everyone :thumb:

It was a massive project and not one I thought I`d have to do, but the fact that it was a car that is so easy to work on definately helped. I had a lot of help from several people on ClubGTi and Northloop and unless I wanted RWD, I`d still get another Golf if I was doing it again, the spares are pretty cheap, easily accessible and you can get good power out of the fairly easily. As a first track car, I think they are pretty good.

My family were very supportive, especially after I`d had the crash, but my wife has told me that if I crash this one, there WONT be another in teh near future :o Which to be fair, I cant really blame her for saying, for 5 weeks apart from going to work, every evening and weekend was spent on the golf....

Hopefully all you`ll see of it now is going round a track :thumb:

Cracking write up Nige. I admire the courage and determination.

One other good thing you have learnt,

Is that approximately 300 photos, 3 videos, and a big bunch of text is precisely whats required to bring 5+Mbit internet connection, a decent laptop and bigpower servers to their knees !!!

Good work again chap !!!

:D :D :D

exactly ..... i cant wait for page 2 to happen as it will be quicker to load to see the ongoing chat :D

This still amazes me and put things into perspective when we cry off events that are 4 weeks away because we have 'so much' to do - Nige stripped and build a car in that time :o
