If your concerned, and you should be with a Nur-Spec exhaust, then look at getting a decat silencer, these make a lot of differeance to noise and basically no difference to power and back pressure (unlike bungs).

Is there anywhere I can get this noise testing done? I've not had a problem with turning up to tracks & driving but as I'm hoping to drive more mainstream tracks like Silverstone & Brands Hatch I wouldn't want to waste time & money if I'm too loud (which I guess I am).

just a warning about bungs,

whilst trying to restrain the din caused by my car using a bung i accidently
created a bung-zuka! i fired the critter across an A road and into a field.

luckily i missed everything, ok it did come loose a 7k rpm with foot down,
but there must have been one hell of a lot of back pressure to fire it out like that.

using a bung also increased my exhaust gas temperature by between 50 and 100 degrees F.

just a personal experiance, but i have learnt my lesson.

they also really hurt power output.

Personally i prefer a quieter exhaust to start with that works well. Noise isnt everything :D

Another note re: the bungs...

me and rob both thought, oh no going to need them in with our Nur Spec's!...

luckily we didnt, his came in at 104db :o and mine at 103db [-o<

so just on the brink of it!! :-D

Noise isnt everything, your right dunc, but it sure is nice!!
