Classic Ford Show - Santa pod - Updated 14,6,07

Post by pablo »

The day didn't start off as we hoped, it was cloudy, misty and a light haze in the air.
We set off at 6 a.m to meet up with some more of the guys from the club at Watford Gap Services. We had our own mini convoy on the way to meet up. Me in the sierra Janspeed, Alan in his XR4i and our mate Gaz driving Alan's Sierra GT.

Our sponser Fitz was supposed to have been coming in his Blue 24v 3 door cossie but on Thursday he managed to break his gearbox :o . So we didn't expect him to be there. You can imagine our surprise when he turned up inspite of the fact that he had a problem with his prop shaft.

Last time out we achieved a 15.5 (Pablo) 15.4 (Bart) in the janspeed (see previous thread RS show). This time out I had set a target of 14.999 for the car. Al was also running his GT down the strip against a couple of guys in the club. A 2.8 xr4x4 and a 3.0 stage 1 xr4x4. To date Al was unbeaten down the Quarter mile in both his xr4i and his GT against cars of simular engine size 8)

We decided that for a bit of fun we would run the janspeed against the sponser, (Well he did have a sick car) :)

The pictures and video from the day will be added during the week, but for now here are the results.

Al is still unbeaten in his GT and set a new pb just for good measure 8)

Pablo against Fitz - Rode the clutch to much on launch. Still a pb though

Alan in the janpeed against Fitz dropping it from 5500rpm (Check out his 60ft time) :o

I think we'll see how it goes Al. Don't want any incriminating evidence if you know what I mean ;)
