Sounds about right for insurance companies.
Always pays to shop around and play the game a bit.
I am with A-plan and find them ok.

I'm also with a-plan, however been hearing horror stories with regards paying out on the GTR forum, so next renewal I'm going to look to http://www.heritage-quote.co.uk/ plus they cover trackdays

Ben.

Only "horror stories" I ever heard with regards to A-Plan was for people who hadnt declared all their mods with one particular insurance company - whose name escapes me - which then refused to pay out. A-Plan had nothing to do with this as they are a broker not an insurance company and hence they are just stuck in the middle.

I think they have now resolved the issues and no longer put modified cars with that insurer.

I am with A-Plan and they have been cheap, but I made extra effort that every single thing thats modded on my car is on the insurance. These companies look for anything to avoid paying out nowadays.

Of course, A-plan are the broker DOH, and actually thinking about it I'm now insured with Ensign, it changed about two years ago ... but there are a few stories on GTR about different people being offered really low payouts.

Hence the recommendation is to now get insurance with an assessed value as opposed to believing your car is worth x, when the insurance companies look at the value of the crap imports coming in and say it's worth the same as some shagged old dog.
