Something for the older fart - Sir?

Post by slaphead »

As some of may know I have a huge soft spot for the 240/260z due mainly to a rather tatty 74 example being my last bachelor motor (fond memories - rose coloured glasses and misty eyed - moment over) - whilst trawling the net I just happened to find this on a US site

- all I can say is that I am now considering turning my GTR into a donor car :o

Great find Mark.

I have a magazine article on this car and it does have to be one of the best cars out there in my opinion with stunning looks and a hell of a punch from the tuned RB. Dan, Joe and I were perving at the 240 and 260z's at Silverstone at the weekend. They just improve with age like an Escort mk1.

A worthy sacrifice if you go down that route :thumb:

Nice find Ben -

If I remember rightly there were a number of 240/260z fitted with the Rover V8 in the early days -

I must confess to having a bias toward a zed with a straight 6 in it - the original engine had a truly awesome exhaust note when the silencer boxes were replaced with cherry bombs, the rasp as it came on the cam at about 3000rpm was pure audio sex, problem was that stength wasn't its forte - the mixture of the ally head and iron block causing blown gaskets being the main area of contention :x .
