VF12 Turbo

Post by Andy_Cat »

Was wondering if anyone had any ideas on what sort of boost and power a VF12 turbo can deal with :?:
At the moment i'm looking at a few ideas, mainly a td05/06, vf12 and a vf23.
Believe the vf12 came off the legacy but cant seem to find that much info :?:

Yeah the VF12 did come off of a Legacy (or could have done) so I would suggest you PM Stockcar (Alyn) and ask nicely for some advice as he has a few :D

IHI VF23
(388cfm at 18psi, 250-325whp, Bolt-On)
This is the standard equipment turbocharger used on the JDM MY95 Subaru Impreza WRX STi and the JDM Subaru Impreza WRX STi 22b. The VF23 is a ball bearing turbocharger that utilizes the P20 exhaust housing like the VF22. This housing is mated with the smaller compressor housing of the VF24 for fast response and excellent low and mid-range performance. It does not have the same top end power of the VF22, but spools up slightly quicker.
Expect to achieve full boost with the proper mods and a quality tune between 2800-3300rpms. 2002-2005 WRX owners will need fuel upgrades for this turbocharger and proper engine management is highly recommended for all vehicles.

TD06 will be too laggy on yours - TD05 would be good

My STi3 (and others) had VF23 as standard fitment. Earlier STis had VF22 and STi4 used VF24.

05/06 20g is a nice turbo for 2.5L. Bit laggy on 2.0L

So a TD05, 440cc injectors, 255lph pump and uprated tmi would be a fairly sensible setup :?:

Got a green cotton panel filter and looking at either a Blitz or a H&S exhaust.

Ecu wise would a Power FC not do the job :?:
Sorry for the lack of knowledge but not too clued up on Scoobs yet but am learning

Power FC is ideal. Sounds like you have it sorted and well on the way 8)

Brakes and suspension shouldn't be far behind though.

yeah got some Black diamond combi's for the front and looking at doing a rear conversion to something bigger, apparently legacy rear disc setups are an easy swap
