Hmmm,
With the very greatest of respect to those here who have said they dont use them and polish them and pamper them like crazy and so on,
If they were 100k supercars, or even limited edition rarities like a RS200 or Alfa SZ with very few miles on them, in GENUINE concourse condition, then I can undertsand the fastidiousness to preserve something that can only deteriorate with alot of use.
But we are talking about run of the mill, standard motors, that have already done a few miles - even the lower mileage ones, that are just basically 10year old go fast cars on a budget that should just be used and enjoyed. Worrying non stop that you have sullied the underneath of a GTO with some road grime and salt is nuts - throw it away and buy another - theres loads to chose from !!! If you want a mint low miler, then fine - and perhaps you bath have them, in which case apologies - but I never get it when someone happens to have a regular car thats just like all the others and then spends shed loads of time and effort and cleaning products trying to make a silk purse out of a sows ear !!! I dont mean that it should be caned and unloved, just that it shouldnt need to be locked up in air conditioned agarges with duvets like it was a Murcielago GTR !!!!
Sorry, and this isnt a personal attack, I just dont and never will "get it" !!

I only really take the M3 out on dry sunny days because that's the reason I bought the car. Though I'll use i in the rain if I have to get four people around. The smart car gets used in all weather!
The pulsar being 4x4 gets used in whatever weather looks fun, I undersealed it when I first got it, and every time it snows, I go and get the keys!!

I'll never go out in the car when it's raining but rain always seems to find me when it's dry so the Cobra often gets soaked - take the drift evening as a starting point.
I've been stuck in the rain more often than I care to remember but I don't really worry about it too much as it all dries out. Eventually.
The car very rarely gets cleaned as the last downpour washes the dirt off & it's filthy at the mo from swapping engines over.
I might even invest in a bigger umbrella soon.
