Induction Kit

Post by duncan »

I am going to be putting an induction kit on my car shortly and wondered which people thought would be the better of the following options;

All three of these will locate the air filter withon the inner arch away from engine heat and would be fed from my existing cold air ducting from the front bumper to ensure a ready supply of cold air.

All have a 70mm induction ID.

a) Hyperflow Cold Air Kit

b) K&N Typhoon

c) Perrin Cold Air Kit

Also do any of suppliers want to do a deal on these? :D

I had an APS cold air induction kit on which seemed pretty good, got the K&N now I think. Seems to do the job.

Love the noise form the APS though, the air 'swirled' as it came up the pipe, sounded like a tornado under the bonnet :D

Hi Dunk

I would say that the K&N and APS are on par. They both have a good quality cotton filter and mounted in the inner wing :-D

As for the Perrin, I haven't ever used one however, the rest of their product line is very reputable. The only thing that would concern me is the quality of the filter foam. The only non replacement foam filter that I would recomend is an ITG :)

We are dealers for both K&N and APS :wink:

Lloyd :-D

Yep, its in the innerwing.

If I had a choice between the two I'd go for the APS personally, I loved the sound :D

Would have still got that fitted were it not for an inept 'engine builder' in Norwich...

Actually, I'd be interested in a price on the APS Cold Air induction kit... if I can sell my K&N one I'd go for the APS again :)
