Anyone tried or have experiances of Ksport big brake kits?

Post by James Breadvan »

Need something a bit meatier than my current brake setup on my CTR. I've seen the adverts for Ksport big brakes and wondered if any of you have any opinions of them?

I would have to say that Bubbles case may be an extreme though Jamie. If the brakes were that bad, I'm pretty sure Bren would have flown through a few tyre walls by now.

im sure bren will be along soon to give you some info on them but after pushing him for many laps yesterday i dont think it was his brakes that let him down!!!...

we have used these on a few 200sx's and for the money i dont think you could get any better

much cheaper than ap's and done for a widerange of cars

Yes I have them on my R34GTT 8)

I suffered an unusual disc failure @ Snetterton, but the support was fantastic, with an immediate replacement disc being supplied by APEX Performance to get me home. Now running new AP discs with the K-Sport kit and they are fantastic and stop the car on its nose. Great value for money, with good back-up. I will probably go with a K-Sport rear set up in the future too, as it feels like the rear is under braked now.

The brakes have been used on our skyline test car for almost a year now. First the 330mm set then the 356mm kit.

The first 330mm test kit then went on my 200SX for 2 trackdays before going onto Jez Horshams Time Attack car - he ended up Time Attack Champion by the end of the year ;)
Thos same 330mm rotors are now back on my car and back competeing in TimeAttack (see sig link).

We were testing the brakes yesterday at Bruntingthorpe with Japanese Performance mag, very succesful test, look out for the review in the magazine next month. Short line is the harder we pushed them the better they got (down to 4.2 secs for 100-0 on the 10th attempt on the trot and taking only 325feet), compared to 5.3 secs and 400foot for the standard 280mm 4-pot setup on its 10th attempt.

All 356 kits are supplied with a new spec of rotor, there has never been a rotor failure on 330mm kits. T

Here a vid ouf our lardy R33 skyline going round donington with our 356mm kit
