Right peeps, The engine is in complete with clutch and flywheel, and all bolted up to the box, i done this by my-self   PHEEEEEW what a job that was, my fault i got fed up of waiting for a mate to come help lol.

Now got to start building the engine up, most of the electrics are now done and all sensors fitted and plugged into the loom, next job is going to be fitting all oil and water pipes, think ill treat myself to a full set of samco`s.

I was going to buy a set of uprated headers for the build but have heard good reports about the standard headers when have been ported and wrapped.

SOOOOOOOO out came worbs motor sports in house top of the range porting machine

I put the gasket onto the manifold to get a line to open the ports to.

I ground out the ports to the lines, then polished to get a nice finsh.

And without the gasket on.

Little bit of an update.

Im having a majour headache with this reversed manifold thing, but after a quick pm from pavlo at zen i can see what i need to do, im going to refit the manifold in the original position, make a plate to block of the original throttle body outlet, and cut the shape required to fit the throttle body into the back of the manifold, It will sit flat and wont be angled upwards so should easily miss the bonnet + the idle controll valve will also retain its original position so no need to cut out the inner skin to make that fit, :D :D

Quick pic of the manifold and what i plan to do.

What are the benefits of the reversed manifold Worbs?

Is it purely down to a shorter pipe run from the FMIC?

Yes mate basicly, was also wanting to toy with the idea of moving the air filter under the scoop as would have a big space there.

After doing some reaserch tonight iv found that reversing the manifold and having the shorter pipe work will lead to roughly 0.3-0.5 of a second less lag time than if the manifold was the normal way, sooooooooooooooo

Iv turned it back the original way, all that trouble for the sake of half a second mmmm NO! lol Plus i get more shiny bit under the bonet

all that trouble? if you have a spare throttle body to attach to the front of the intake manifold it really is only an of hour's work for a half competent engineer to TIG weld the ally. and then you would want to send it off to be powdercoated :)

The back of the manifold is not flat mate, i assumed after a quick look that it was, but after measuring it up tonight it would not be just as straight forwad as drilling the hole and tig`ing it on, Also eliminates the need to bugger about with the problem of the ICV also fouling the bonnet.
