2 car insurance confusion?

Post by jungle-jim »

ok.

i got the MR2 track car which is currently insured.

however, i have bought another rover as a family car.

this i am picking up on saturday

so i have transfered the insurance to start at midnight saturday in order to tax it too.

thing is, my renewal is up next month and i would like to insure them both

i tried admiral for the 2 car policy but i got confused over the NCB for both cars?

i put 6 for each as i will have 6 yrs NCB next month

i got a quote of

should i be getting quotes based on one of the cars having no NCB and one with 6 yrs?

Try good old Kieth Michaels Insurance sorted me a great deal on two cars this year :-D (ask for christian)

Although i had 6 years on my evo policy and none on my commuter he mirrored the 6 years on evo onto my daily commuter policy

I'm sure A-plan allowed my NCB to shared on both cars.

cheers for that, i'll give it a go.

seems my best option is to get 4 quotes....

MR2 with 6 yrs NCB
MR2 with 0 yrs NCB

rover 200 with 6 yrs NCB
rover 200 with 0 yrs NCB

Most places don't use your NCB on a 2nd car, however when I insured the Supra with elephant who I was already with they gave me 1 years NCB after the first few months which was just in time for renewal.

The post above about 'mirroring' the NCB onto a second car sounds very appealing though! My insurance runs out end of this month I think so will be looking into that myself :)
