Has anyone ever claimed for a serious tyre defect :?: :?: :?:
Tyre blew out at 15mph
Tyre pressure had recently been checked, good 5/6mm left, even tyre wear and no impact damage :?:

Where di you buy the tyres from Lee - Most fitters offer a warranty against defects.
Outside of that, if you paid on a credit card you are protected by the consumer credit act section 74 which cover Merchandable Quality complaints. or Section 56 of this act which will protect you in the case of them being "Fit for Use". If you have no joy from the fitter, then pursue a replacement through the credit card company.
Go to a tyre retailer and ask them to send the tyre back to the manufacturer for investigaton. It takes a while to go through the system and you may need to chase them up for progress. I have sent a few tyres back over the years, but most come back with "impact damage" causing the failure, meaning a pot hole, or kerbing the tyre has caused the failure
I have heard of a lot of F1's failing over the last few years
cheers people will take a ride down the local tyre dealers to see what can be done.
The tyre is actually of the missis car its very lucky that it blew out were it did as she would have been traveling down the notorious 40' later that day!
Have had a few sets of the f1s in the past and been very happy with them didn't realize that they had problems seem that it could be a problem on a larger scale seeing that a few people have heard of the tyres failing
cheers everyone
