Gave up with the dvd version as the recorder puts it into chapters and it's the wrong format etc.
Bought a cable, from JJs link (thanks). Plugged it in and the PC sees the camera 8) BUT when I try to upload to the PC I get a video capture driver error. Tried Microsoft Movie Maker and U-lead Video. Looked on the Canon and Microsoft sites but no joy.
I don't know if it's a software or Firewire card problem. Canon don't do drivers saying it's a card thing. Took the PCI card out and there's no name on it but it has a Via chip. Tried the Via site but don't really know what I'm looking for.
The ulead software came with the card. Tried removing the camera drivers and firewire card to re-install with no luck. Where are the video capture drivers? :?:
personally i would wait until you have the DV cable and get a good video editing software like pinnacle.
i was the same until i got them both.
it will make a difference.
if you can't afford the software, i can give you mine if you go to the next BP meet or i can post it to you first class recorded if you PM me your addy?
