Its best to get all of the jobs done before the engine goes back in. My inner N/S C.V Boot was split and this can be done without stripping down the wheel hub if the engine is out.

You have to strip them right down to wash out any dirt that may have got into the grease while on the road. Its best to use the steel band clips from the kit not cable ties, as these will keep popping off.

A couple more jobs done a rusty spigot replaced under the inlet manifold and refitted with a Tomei gasket.

Yes its the Red car :) I rebuilt the Black car last year then put it away with about 100 miles on the rebuilt engine.

Its hard to know what to do in the long term my ideal would be to stay with two cars but the other half wants a house in France

I get as much enjoyment from working on cars as I do driving them so no problems there.

America can import the R32GTR after 25 years as a classic with no conformity needed for emissions or crash requirement, so for mine 8 years to go I wonder what it will do to the prices?

Not much progress tonight just a bit of cleaning up and painting, the covers are going to be factory Black but with a bit of metal flake
A picture of my Laminova alloy radiator with built in heat exchanger for engine oil cooling,
The oil filter is relocated to sump level and connected to a Greedy filter housing with Delfi sender units for oil temperature and pressure.
this was already on the car

Yes no weekend work for me and home by 4.00pm only trouble is I like to be hands on not sitting around in a office half the time.

Cannot have it all I guess.

As they say the proof is in the pudding when I have finished the engine I am going to drive across France, better than the usual shake down around the M25.

BTW Always happy to give advice to anyone else who fancys taking on their own refresh.
