In fairness, Andys paintjob is actually pretty good. Mine is only any good if you squint a bit and close both eyes :thumb:

Looks a good project bud. Question re the cage. Is it MSA legal ? Reason i ask is we looked in to cages and were of the opinion that half cages didn't comply

i havent checked the rule book (waiting to borrow a copy of the 2007 edition) but it is a sparco cage made from approved materials. i assume it is compliant with their rules. load spreading plates are welded into the car, and the cage was then welded onto these as specified. the front section bolts into welded plates.

in my next project car i will be making my own cage, but thats after ive genned up on the requirements re: mountings and fabrication.

I have to say, I think that looks bloody superb :thumb:

Have you thought about painting the mesh or intercooler to match the rest of your design, as a continuation I mean.

Doesn't look like the same car that I saw at the track in December. Well done

thanks for that, it certainly does look a lot different from its winter clothing. it certainly attracts a lot of attention now, even the lad who lives a few doors down (never spoken to him before) has asked for a passenger ride in it sometime :)

i hear what youre saying about the mesh and continuing the paintjob. as far as im concerned the bodywork paint is finished, but i may extend it onto the mesh and other areas - and of course theres still sponsorship stickers to be applied to the rest of the car ;)

cheers lloyd, speak to you soon i hope!

i started work on an intercooler spraybar/powersteering cooler today :)

similar idea to this, but without the bottle of nitrous or the pressure fittings...
