This is a shame.
Thought it would be a good idea to head up there as one.
Dan i will give you a call tomorrow.
The A14 way is about 20 miles+ longer than the way i will be going, we are all in 300+BHP cars so I am sure getting past the trucks wont be hard. 8)
No worries anyhow, sure we will catch up during the day.

all over it, and when it started up, the noise!!!, I could feel my teeth rattling!!!"
I have to agree with Dan im on the 47 alot and its never been easy even with 2 or 3 cars..20 Miles further maybe but mostly 2/3 lanes to choose from has to be bettermadenglishman wrote:Ian......our plans have changed slightly and me and Trev are going via the A14/M1 but are leaving about 8.00![]()
You might be tight for time to go via the single lane roads.....there will defo be HGV's about at that time.....I know because I'm one of them

Hmm after reading about how cars go missing at Donny, I'm starting to reconsider going...especially as I don't fancy sticking the dirty car on a stand  I'll get thrown out in no time!
If I do decide to go, then I'll see you guys up there
Perhaps if Lee has back seats I can scav a lift with him and his EVO

OK plans have changed slightly now lads;
The plan now is to go via the A14 and then up the M1 as sugested by the truckers amongst us!
Probably a better idea in the long run as we can all stick together on the run up there.
So its meet in Swaffham at 5.45 to leave by 6am.
Is this to early for you Dan/Trev?
Lee give me a call or Pm and we can arrange where to meet you again?

I was talking to Stuart about this,
For those that may be interested on the day........
The drift course will basically be as follows......
A fast, slightly downhill approach at around 75mph into a 90degree left hander which you would initiate on the handbrake early and hold into the first corner, not taking an apex on the inside in order to clip the right hand side of the track on the straight to the next corner which you should acheive in one smooth motion, accelerating flat out before the entry into the second 90degree left hander you will clip the inner apex of this corner and then edge out again maintaining a smooth drift again without any sawing or yawing movement, once clipped you should pretty swiftly be looking for the next gear (3rd or 4th depending on car) as you transition to the left side of the track now going uphill for the right hander that is also a crest and not quite 90 degrees which opens to the long left leading to the start finish straight by which time you should have got back up to 75-90mph and be foot on the floorboards in ready to grab 4th if not already in it !!!!
Judges would expect a half metre distance or less to the curbing on the outer edge between the first two corners for zone about 10 metres long, then another half metre clipping point on the inner apex of turn 2. I expect same again for turn 3 on the inner apex and if they want to make it more difficult and do what they do at Silverstone then there would be a zone (basically a section of track that you have to hold to) on the outer apex of 4 just before the bridge. Last year most of the judging was on the entry speed and angle, the section between turn 1 and 2, and the clipping point on 2, the rest of the course was just kind of a disqualifier if you didnt make it. Now they are judging the rest of the course so it should be that much harder again. Its an extremely technical piece of track with very little room for error.
Hope this helps,
j.
