Yes mate.. i wanted to run them to the rear seatbelt locations but it would mean butchering the carbon to get the eyebolts to fit. so ive decided against it for now.
Theyre wrapped on my bar so its more than safe enough.. would just prefer em running to the back if poss.. Not too bothered thought to be honest.
The angle is fine. If they are too steeply ramped down from the seat, you stand the chance of the chair/seat submarining in the event of a crash. That would never happen like this. IIRC
Anyway, Frayz would be impaled by flying Oakleys off of the rear view long before he got bruised shoulders from his harnii
Ive never seen a harness bar like that, I too thought you were in for a nasty shock if you ever "needed" your harnesses, before you mentioned the bar as they look almost vertical in your pictures.
Are the carbon panels completely replacing the rear of the car then ??? or are they just cosmetic so you dont look at some bare/lightly sprayed metal ??
I take it from the l;ack of rollcage that this isnt a serious track car ??

Ha ha @ the Oakleys.
The placement of the bar means the harnni are perpendicular to the seat back, it just looks like theyre angled down in the pics. When you guys see it in the flesh at the ring then you'll see what i mean.
The idea being that its a track based road car. ie a road car that i use on the track, not a track car that i use on the road. Therefore a cage would be more dangerous than safe to drive on the public highway as i wouldnt be wearing a helmet on the public highway.
The carbon panels are very light indeed so no, theyre way lighter than the items removed.. its not JUST the seats that come out... seatbelts, brackets, bars, hardware, sound deadening.. its all removed.
Occasionally when driving on the road I have hit a large bump or whatever and the old noggin connects with a bit of the caage just to remind you how much damage it could do - its not a problem if I do the belts up tight but to be honest I dont tend to bother on the road so I guess Im my own worst enemy.
I'd have loved to see this at the Ring but I wont be going as its just too close to EDC.
Okay chaps im still fighting with the carbon and awaiting hardware.
So this was a bit of a cheer up when i came home to see my new suede trimmed steering wheel had arrived.

It looks grey in the pics but thats just the way they have come out. Im really pleased with it. Not as pretty as the old one but much more track focused.
This now means i have to wear gloves but funk it... who cares
